MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with students
• Previous experience as a head basketball coach or high school assistant coach
• Knowledge of all levels of the sport, kids program through high school
• Ability to lead and relate to young people in a positive manner
• Ability and willingness to communicate with all stake holders in the basketball community

POSITION STATUS:   This is a part time position to begin with the 2025-26 winter sports season. Rate of pay is per the VEA Bargaining Agreement / Extra Duty Salary Scale.  Reports to High School Principal and Athletic Directors.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Develop a competitive program that meets the individual athlete’s needs with an emphasis on fundamentals and team play.
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Create a winning attitude.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills to athletes, staff, and parents.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of athletic goals.
• Establish clear objectives for the program and be able to effectively communicate them to the athletes.
• Role model of student athlete expectations of sportsmanship, citizenship, and teamwork.
