Minimum Qualifications:
Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement or the ability to obtain. Experience in an educational setting preferred.
Position Status:
This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, licensed position with a contract for the 2019-20 school year. Length of contract and salary as per the VEA contract.
Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Develop an instructional program of study that meets all students’ needs.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Demonstrate positive, effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, based on the Common Core State Standards.
- Establish clear objectives for all instruction and learning targets for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Possess knowledge of band/choir education methods, techniques, and tools.
- Enthusiam for school improvement and change.
- Coaching / Student Advisory experience preferred.
- Teach elective courses as needed.
- Instill appreciation for classical and modern music.
- AVID Program experience preferred.
